Directorate of Education:

• candidate must passed senior Secondary (12th) with 50% marks + 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
• 12th passed with 45% marks + 2 year Diploma (according to NCTE 2002 rules) OR
• Senior Secondary with 50% marks + 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) OR
• Senior Secondary with 50% marks + 2 year Diploma in Special Education OR
• Having Graduation + 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
• Must have passed CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test)
• Must have passed Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, or English as a subject in 10th class

New Delhi Municipal Council:

• Candidate having 12th pass with 50% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST)
• 2 years Diploma in Primary Education/ JBT/ DIET/ B.El.Ed. from a recognised institution
• Must have passed Hindi in 10th class
• Must have passed CTET
• For both departments: Computer knowledge is desirable (not mandatory); No experience required.

Age limit
