The Government of India started the e-shram card Yojana to provide social security for the unorganised sector workers in India. The benefit will be provided to the unorganised sector such as people who built our homes, clean our streets, grow our foods, street vendors and much more. The objective of e shram portal is to collect information about the unorganised worker to provide them benefit of various government schemes.
The aim of eshram card is to provide a unique digital identity card to the unorganised sector. So in case of any natural disaster, pandemic government will directly transfer money in the bank account of unorganised workers.
Unorganized worker between the age of 16 to 56 years can apply online for Shramik card or e shram card. The workers will get benefits like monthly pension after 60 years of Rs 3000/-, death insurance,and financial help. Interested can apply through the e shram portal.

Who is Unorganised Worker?
Unorganised workers are those who is a home-based workers, self-employed workers, or daily wage workers. In simple words, unorganised workers do not have any contracts or appointment letters, they are irregular or daily wages, they have no PF, ESI or other benefits, they have no paid leave or health coverage will get the benefits of e shram card.
Who can apply for e shram Card
If you are a worker in any of the following areas then you are eligible to apply for eshram card.
- Construction worker
- Domestic helper
- Street vendors
- Agriculture labours
- Rickshaw pullers
- Migrant workers
- Tailor, barbers, or mechanics working in small shops
- Home-based auditions and workers
- Fisherman
The list of unorganised workers is uncountable,e so if you are not working in the list mentioned above you can simply apply as a labour.
Benefits of e shram Card
The Shramik card holder will get the benefits mentioned below.
- Monthly pension: The beneficiary will get a monthly pension of Rs. 3,000 after attaining 60 years.
- Death insurance: Shramik will get death Insurance aur full disability of Rs. 2,00,000 and financial support of Rs 1,00,000 in case of partial handicap of a worker.
- If the Shramik dies due to an unfortunate accident, his wife will get all the benefits.
- The migrant worker will get benefits even if they change locations or job.
- The beneficiaries will receive 12-digit UAN number like Aadhaar number, which is valid throughout India.
Eligibility for e Shram
To apply for eshram card beneficiary must meet the criteria given below.
- Beneficiary must be age between 16 to 59 years.
- The worker should be on organised worker.
- Worker must have a valid mobile number linked with Aadhar card.
- They should not be income tax payers
- Must have a bank account.
- The workers should not the member of EPFO or ESIC.
e Shram Card Registration: how to Apply Online?
Interested can apply online for eshram card through e-shram portal or through CSC (common service centre). You can visit the nearest CSC centre and apply for e shram card.
The e sharm card online can be fill through the following process.
- Go to the e-sharm portal at https://eshram.gov.in/
- Click on self-registration page.
- Enter your Aadhar link mobile number, and the capture code
- Click on send OTP button.
- Now, enter your Aadhaar number and tick the terms and conditions, and enter the OTP which is sent on your mobile number. Click on validate button.
- Afterwards, confirm your personal details, which is appear on your screen.
- Now enter your details such as address, education qualification etc.
- Mention your bank details and select the self declaration.
- Click on the preview option to verify the details.
- Click on the submit button
- You will receive a OTP on your mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on verify button.
- Your e shram card is generated and displayed on your screen.
- You can download your eshram card by clicking on the download option.

After completing the e shram application form you can download Shramik card Shramik card by following the steps:
- Go to the e-Shram portal.
- On the homepage click on ‘Already Registered’, select ‘Update profile using UAN’ Option.
- Now enter your UAN number, date of birth captcha code. Click on generate OTP button.
- You will receive OTP on your mobile number, enter the OTP and click on validate button.
- Now confirm the personal details.
- Click on preview button and submit button.
- OTP will send on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on verify button.
- Your e shram card will be generated and displayed on your screen.
- Click on download to download your eshram card.
