The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release the UPSC 2025 notification on the official website. The UPSC notification 2025 will be available on 22 January 2025 at upsc.gov.in. The UPSC exam is held annually to recruit candidates for prestigious positions in the Indian government such as IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Foreign Service), and other group A and group B Central services. As per the UPSC calendar, UPSC Prelims 2025 will be conducted on 25 May 2025.

UPSC 2025 Exam Date
UPSC has announced the UPSC exam date 2025. As per the commission, the UPSC prelims 2025 will be conducted on 25 May 2025. The UPSC 2025 mains exam will be conducted from 22 August 2025 onwards. The UPSC 2025 application form will be available from 22 January 2025. The last date to apply for UPSC online form 2025 is 11 February 2025. All candidates needs to pay the UPSC application fees 2025. The application fees for all candidate is Rs. 100/-. UPSC Exam Pattern 2025
The Union Public Service Commission will release the UPSC 2025 exam pattern in UPSC 2025 notification. The UPSC exam pattern consist of three main stages-prelims, main and interview.
- UPSC Prelims 2025: The prelims exam is a qualifying exam consist of two papers: General studies (GS) and Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT). The question will be asked in the format of objective-type test.
- UPSC Mains 2025: The main exam is a descriptive paper consisting of 9 papers including subjects like an essay paper, four general studies papers, two language papers and two optional papers.

UPSC Prelims syllabus
The UPSC Prelims syllabus is divided into General studies and CSAT (Civil Service Aptitude Test).
- General Studies: The general study is first paper for UPSC Prelims. General studies consists of 200 marks and comprise of topics related to Indian polity, History, Geography, Indian economy, Environment, Science and technology, International relations, and ecology.
- CSAT – The Civil Service aptitude test is conducted for 200 marks for the topics like Reasoning and Analytical, Reading comprehension and the seldom-asked decision-making questions.
UPSC Mains Syllabus
The UPSC main syllabus comprises 9 descriptive papers. Out of 9 papers 7 of those papers are considered for preparing for the final merit list. English and Indian literature are qualifying in nature.
