How to Apply for the AFCAT 2024 Exam
The AFCAT 2 application form 2024 will be filled in two steps: Registration and application form filling. Candidate can follow these the steps to apply online for AFCAT 2 2024.
- Registration Process
- Go to the official website of AFCAT at www.afcat.cdac.in.
- On the homepage find the section name as “Student Login”.
- A new page will appear. New Users will have to register first.
- Afterwards, Click on New User Register.
- You should enter your mobile no. and email to register yourself for the test.
- After filling the required information An OTP will be sent to your mobile no. and email, fill and click on “Submit”.
- Finally, A Login Id and Password will be sent to your registered mobile no. and email id to login.
2. Login
- Now log in using the Registration Number and Password which is sent during the registration.
- Afterwards, the candidate needs to Select the post.
- Complete the application form by filling required details such as educational qualifications etc.
- Now Pay the examination fee as applicable, online using a Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking.
- Upload documents like scanned colour photographs and Signatures (in English or in Hindi) in JPEG format.
- Here candidates needs to log in again in the link for “UPLOAD” and thereafter, upload the file/scanned filled
- Upload all the required certificates
- Lastly Submit the application. Print out the application form for records.
AFCAT 2 2024 Exam Application Fee
In order to submit the application form all candidate needs to submit the application fees. The AFCAT application fee for all Candidates is Rs. 550/- + GST (non-refundable). However candidate who is registering for NCC special entry and meteorology are not required to pay the application fees.

AFCAT 2 2024 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for AFCAT 2 2024 for Ground Duty and Flying Branch posts candidate must meet some specific criteria set by Indian Air Force (IAF).
AFCAT Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)
(i) Flying Branch: The minimum age limit is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 24 years for flying branches. Age relaxation for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years, as per the government forms. Applicants Should have been born between 02/01/2001 to 01/01/2005.
(ii)Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: For ground duty, the applicant should be at least 20 years and the upper age limit is capped at 26 years. The candidate must have born between 02/01/1999 to 01/01/2005).
Note: this is to inform you that Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.
AFCAT Educational Qualification
Flying branch: The candidate must have scored Minimum 50% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a three-year graduation degree OR a BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university of India.
AFCAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Ground Duty (Technical)Branch:
(i)Aeronautical engineering (Electronics)(AE(L)): The applicant should have a minimum of 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a degree in graduation/post-graduation in the field of engineering and technology from a recognized university of India.

AFCAT 2024 Selection Process
The selection process of AFCAT 2 includes a written examination and AFSB test. All candidate needs to clear the written examination to appear for 2nd stage. IFA will send call letters to those candidates who clear the AFCAT 2 2024 to appear for the second stage of selection.
AFSB Testing Stage 1
Air Force Selection Board conducts the AFSB test. AFSB Test includes the following two tests:
- Stage 1: Officer Intelligence Rating Test.
- Stage 2: Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT)
Candidates who clear Stage 1 which is the screening test our only able to go through stage 2 which is the Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT). Applicants who do not clear it will be rejected and will not be called for AFSB Testing Stage 2.
AFSB Testing Stage 2
Candidates who qualified AFSB test will have to go through the AFSB stage 2. The test include psychological test, group test, AFSB interviews and computerised pilot selection system test.
- Psychological Tests: These are written psychological tests and are conducted by professional psychologists.
- Group Tests: These tests involve mental and physical activities to examine the candidates on various mental and physical parameters.
- AFSB Interview: In this round, the interviewing officer takes a personal round of interviews for the candidate.
- Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test: This test is mandatory for only those candidates who have applied for the Flying Branch.
Medical Examination
Selected candidates in AFSB Stage 2 will be called for the medical examination. The medical test will be performed in only two centers: the Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru and Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME).Candidate who qualified the medical examination, a final merit list will prepared based on the marks scored by the candidate in written and AFSB interviews. Indian Air Force send the joining letter to all the shortlisted candidates.
AFCAT 2024 Exam Pattern
The AFCAT 2 2024 Exam pattern consists of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ). There are a total of 100 questions of 300 marks. Candidate needs to complete the test in 2 hours. The question will be asked about verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and military aptitude. The candidate will be rewarded three months is the correct answer. There is a negative marking of one mark for the wrong answer in all sections.

AFCAT 2024 Syllabus
The AFCAT syllabus 2024 consists of English section, general knowledge, reasoning section and quantitative aptitude section. Interested candidates preparing for the Air Force Common Admission Test must start with their preparation with the latest Syllabus.
