Before applying, ensure you meet all the eligibility criteria. Moreover, candidates must hold a required educational qualification, and age limit, and fulfill any other specific criteria The detailed information is given below.

Education qualification : To be eligible for the Bihar STET, candidates need to meet certain educational qualifications.

a. For paper 1 (secondary) –

• Bachelor Degree in Related Subject with 50% Marks and B.Ed Exam Passed OR
• Master Degree in Related Subject and B.Ed Exam Passed OR
• Bachelor Degree / Master Degree with Minimum 45% Marks (As per NCTE Norms) with B.Ed. OR
• 4 Year Course BA BEd / BSc BEd Exam
• For Subject Wise Eligibility Details Read the Notification.

b. For paper 2 (senior secondary class 11 to 12) –

• Master Degree in Related Subject with 50% Marks and B.Ed Exam / BA BEd / BSc BEd Passed OR
• Master Degree with Minimum 45% Marks (As per NCTE Norms) with B.Ed. OR
• Master Degree with 55% Marks and 3 Year B.Ed MEd Course

Age Limit( as on 01/08/2023) –

• The minimum age limit for candidates is 21 years, and
• the maximum age limit for Male in General category is maximum of 37 years.
• The maximum age limit for the General Female is 40 maximum of 40 years.
• Age relaxations are also provided for certain reserved categories as per government norms.

Nationality and Domicile –

Candidates must be Indian citizens and possess domicile of Bihar. Proof of Bihar domicile is required, such as a residence certificate or similar documents.

Language Proficiency –
Candidates must possess proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written, as the medium of instruction in Bihar schools is often English.
