What is GATE Exam?

The full form of GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The GATE is conducted for admission to M.Tech, ME, or direct PhD program in top institutes like IIT, and NIT, and IIIT or recruitment in PSUs (public sector undertakings) for top jobs in the technical field. It is one of the most important National-level Engineering and Science graduate exams conducted every year by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee and seven IITs on rotational basis, including IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Madras, Roorkee, Kharagpur, and Kanpur. Candidate who has completed BTech/BE/B.Sc/MSc/MCA from a recognised Institute are eligible to apply for GATE exam.

GATE 2027 Eligibility Criteria

GATE Education Qualification

Interested candidates must have passed the third of final year of Bachelors Degree in engineering, Technology, architecture, science or humanities from a recognised University or institution are eligible to apply for the GATE exam 2027.

GATE Application Fees 2027

GATE 2027 Exam Pattern

The exam authority will release GATE exam pattern 2027 along with the official notification. The GATE exam is conducted online to Computer Based retest. The test consists of a total of 65 questions for 100 marks and all questions are objective. The GATE exam 2027 is conducted for 3 hours in 30 disciplines. The questions will be design on application, and analysis and synthesis, comprehension and recall. For one-mark questions there is a negative marking of 1/3 and for two marks question the negative marking of 2/3.
